Job Description

MNC is seeking a financial analyst to research and report on prospect companies/ clients/ industry and conduct financial analysis/ modeling. This position is based in Bangalore.

Primary responsibility is researching and producing reports using various external and internal data sources.

Responsibilities:

Research, analyze and report on a particular company/ segment/ industry. This includes the following tasks
Analysis of P&C insurance company financial statements in U. S. Statutory/ GAAP/ IFRS basis
Analysis of data by business, industry, geography, products/ services, client size, and other relevant business segmentations
Data mining of industry databases and manipulation of software tools in order to conduct statistical studies, industry & peer analyses
Perform advanced inquiries on industry databases
Data analysis and research on all aspects of the P&C insurance industry
Creation of management reports (prospects, clients, industry, other) in PowerPoint and Word that are executive level ready
Keeping abreast of industry news; conducting competitor analysis
Development and maintenance of financial models
Development of templates, tools and instructions to enable MNC colleagues to more efficiently extract financial data from industry databases.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelors degree and over 2 years work experience in financial analysis and/ or related work experience at an insurance company, Reinsurance Company, reinsurance intermediary or consulting firm
Understanding of P&C insurance statutory accounting/ financial data
Strong attention to detail
Ability to investigate and build upon the data analysis
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Ability to complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced, unstructured environment (can do attitude, flexibility, and ability to respond quickly and creatively to changing requirements)
Superior communication skills.

Qualifications/ Skills Desired:
CPCU, MBA, and/ or CFA designations
Familiarity with 3rd party data sources SNL, AM Best, S&P, Factiva, etc.
