Knowledge & Experience
Experience in a telco, system integrator, service organisation or telecom product supplier.
5 to 8 years engineering & technical experience in telecoms or related industry. Strong engineering methodologies, experience and discipline, including networks, applications, system design and testing and support.
Excellent knowledge and experience of telecom carrier grade products and services and a broad knowledge of the current telecom product offerings across different geographies.
Detailed knowledge of TDM platforms Siemens-EWSD and Nortel-DMS (core configuration, routing, subscriber and carrier configuration, trouble shooting, hardware set-up).
Detailed knowledge of TDM signalling protocols (ISUP, Q. 931, TCAP, INAP, national signalling variants) down to bit level.
Detailed knowledge of VoIP signalling protocols (H. 323, SIP, SIP-I, MGCP) down to bit level.
Detailed knowledge of VoIP platforms Cisco-PGW (core configuration, routing, subscriber and carrier configuration, trouble shooting, hardware set-up).
Knowledge of IMS components and IMS architecture
Operation of test and monitoring systems for TDM and VoIP signalling protocols.
Knowledge of underlying transmission technologies (PDM, SDH, IP)
Expert knowledge in one or more of the following areas;
VoIP protocols H. 323 and SIP
TDM protocols ISDN and ISUP
VoIP/ IMS network architectures
TDM network architectures
Operation of at least one vendor VoIP platform
Academic & Professional Qualifications
Degree Level in Engineering or Information Technology (EC, IT, EEE)
Technical certifications in an appropriate field
Second European language an advantage |
