Nortel's Converged Data Network (CDN) organization is looking for senior software engineers to join the team to work on next generation Secured Application switching products. As a member of the team, you would be responsible to deploy and maintain a software development environment capable of supporting a large number of software development engineers.
MUSTS:
- 3+ years of software design and development experience
- Strong knowledge of make files (imake and other software building tools)
- Scripting language knowledge (Perl and bash preferred)
- Strong programming languages experience in C and C++ (about 2+years of C++ experience) and STL (Std template Library) experience; Good object oriented design and programming experience; Good Data Modeling experience;
- Good knowledge of application development on the Linux operating system;
- Strong exposure to configuration, management, SNMP, and CLI are essential.
- Good knowledge of L2 and L3 protocols, and load generation principles (ideally should have good exposure to use tools like IXIA, SmartBits etc. ).
- Good knowledge of Test Automation principles and tools (e. g. Expect, Tcl/ Tk etc. )
- Strong problem solving and debugging skills; must be self-reliant and autonomous
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
