JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Systems Engineer Reports To: Regional Manager India south Department: Technical Services Territory: India South Critical Relationships: Sales internal and external Customers Resellers Distributors Technical Support Marketing Engineering Industry Partners Position Summary: Work closely with the Sales Team in forming and maintaining an excellent relationship with named account customers. This will be primarily, but not solely, with the architects and other lead technical people in our customers. It will also involve contact with CXO level people. There is some contact with resellers and distributors also. Maintain ongoing assistance with pre sales in areas such as technical advice, presentation, demonstrations, and impart technical knowledge to potential clients to enhance the whole sales effort. Primary Accountabilities: Sales: Manage the removal technical barriers to Sales. Assist Sales Dept in identifying opportunities for Citrix products and services, either directly with end users or helping resellers. Attend on site sales meetings for prospective clients in accordance with sales priorities. Maintain open communications with sales staff on all current and prospective accounts. Work with sales team on account planning and devise account technical strategies Technical: Work with resellers and end users on pilots ensuring best efforts have been made to evaluate products (including advanced options of our products), help remove and solve technical barriers. Assist resellers with RFP responses and technical documentation Help to present and organise technical sessions and demonstrations Training: Keep updated with current technical IT knowledge via self-studies and formal courses. Train relevant Distribution staff Run user groups in main centres Run mail lists to distribute relevant information Dissemination of technical knowledge to support staff. General: Required to travel in relation to any of the above job functions. If appropriate, assist with the writing of white papers with regards to Citrix product implementations. Attend and assist with Trade Shows and events as required. Supply regular reports to the Manager, Systems Engineering - ANZ Meet objectives as set by the Manager, Systems Engineering - ANZ Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities) Bachelors Degree in Science ( Engineering or MCA/ MBA preferred) Minimum 8 full time years experience in IT Significant working knowledge of Microsoft NT operating systems with the ability to install and configure machines, adaptors, sub systems, and applications. Familiarity with NetWare family of products including key aspects involved in setting up servers and clients. Familiarity with the concepts and practical experience with remote computing and thin client architecture, preferably around Citrix software. Familiarity with enterprise networking including dial in remote accesses and WAN technologies, as well as client/ server application deployment architectures and issues. Familiarity with Portal technologies and Internet Services. Demonstrable understanding of project methodology and application to large IT projects Demonstrable understanding of IT operations methodology and relevance to large IT environments (eg: change management, capacity planning etc) Understanding of business drivers for IT projects Strong communication and presentation skills. Candidate must have a commercial attitude and be sales orientated in approach. Microsoft MCSE and/ or Novell CNE preferred/ or Cisco Certified Network Administrator preferred DOS, Windows and industry standard certifications (ex. HP Certification). Experience working with enterprise WAN environments, client/ server databases, multi protocol environments and mainframe connectivity preferred.
