Title: Student Assistant
Work Performed:
As Student assistant, my activities at European Center for Mechatronics are more concerned with robotics research in order to support the European research projects InterSHIP and, with special development for industrial automation. One of the development task is aiming to combine the use of robots with macro programming strategies for automated task for example, welding. The task includes Integration of distance sensor with the robot controller. After integration of sensor, programming of robot motion according to the object shape around sides and corners of objects which need to be weld through teach-pendent of robot. The tool developed enables robots to work with master-files generated from sequences of macros. Another development includes communication base between PC and Robot via Transfer protocol Network.
As a student assistant I have developed micro controller circuit using ATmega16 for interface with robot to meet the requirements of robot motion/ movements. Programming of controller IC ATmega16 is done using AVR Studio with C/ C++ programming Language.
