As Manager (IT) Heading a team of 5 including Asst. IT Manager and IT professionals for managing the complete infrastructure administration comprising of 5 offices across India, Singapore and still growing.
 Major Initiatives : Since the group has grown up with more of inorganically besides organic hence so many discrete application systems are running. The IT was not a major focus until now but ever since, I have joined IT suddenly has taken front side in the group. The task is really big and so are the challenges. The strategic IT initiatives taken so far are :
- Suggested common IT solution across the group. The study being conducted, by a big consulting firm, to select the CRM for the whole group to end by March08.
- Creation of a large Design and data centre to cater to the entire design and IT needs of the group.
- Inter office connectivity and security systems being initiated and implemented.
- Until now we have been working on all POP3 email ids. Suggested to migrate to exchange server. This has gone live w. e. f. 1st November07. Gradually all ids are being shifted to work on Microsoft outlook and web access including instant messaging.
- Centralized monitoring and procurement of all IT resources and services under Manager (IT) supervision has resulted into reduction of 15-20% in IT cost.
- Finalizing of network design and deployment in new project is under way covering Fibre optic/ CAT 6 cabling and Wi-Fi to make it completely wireless with wire backup.
