Fidelity Investments is leader in mutual fund investments across the world. Fidelity FNW-India proposes to offer a comprehensive platform for the growing IFA segment. Easy access to a wide range of domestic funds, ease of transaction execution, practice management support, planning tools, and value added customer reports.

I worked on IFNW project as INFORMATICA Developer. The IFNW project is divided into three subject areas Product Information, Client Reporting and Business Management Information. I was involved in the Dim and Fact loading strategy for the EDW. The source database is in Oracle 9i and the target EDW is to be build in Oracle 10g. We will be using ETL tool INFORMATICA 8. 0 for extracting, validating and transforming the raw data into the predictive data according to the business rules. The data from source ODS will be dumped into the Staging Area which is in Oracle10g with help of ETL tool. There will be no transformation and data cleansing operation performed while loading data from source ODS to Staging area. The data from Staging area will be moved to the EDW by applying various Business rules and Transformation.

The reports will be generated using WEBFOCUS from the EDW. These reports can be seen by different Business Users in the dashboard provided online.

Handling Queries from Client.
Done ETL mapping documentation of the Data Staging Stage and Enterprise Data warehouse (EDW).
Naming the Fact and Dimension Tables according to the naming conventions provided by Fidelity.
Interacted with Client for various Reviews and EDW implementation strategies.
Involved in studying and analyze Data modeling of EDW for the Project.
Involved in creating dependency of various Dims and Fact in the EDW.
Involved in creating Mappings of various Dims and Fact in the EDW.
Involved in implementation of the loading strategy of various Dims and Facts in EDW.
Involved in loading data to staging and EDW through batches according to dependencies.
Run the Stored procedure and functions to load data in various temp tables for complicated calculations.
Run the workflows through UNIX server.
Optimize the performance in loading tables through indexes.

The project's main objective was to develop a data warehousing application that will process data received from BPs ERPs in form of Flat Files and convert it in to user understandable format XMLs.

Project Description:

British Petroleum (BP) eBilling project's main objective was to develop a data warehousing application that will process data received from BPs ERPs in form of Flat Files and convert it in to user understandable format XMLs. The project is successfully developed and presently in Maintenance and Support Phase. eBilling is getting Source data form 150 countries for feeds: INVOICE, AROpen, MASTER DATA and UN INVOICED from source systems (SUN, ISPS, and SAP) in the form of flat files. The ETL Processes the data from the ERPs and converts it into XML files. The target systems are Optus Ebilling and EDI Gateway.
